  • Brett Mitchell

    Independent Non-Executive Chair

    Mr Mitchell is a corporate finance executive with over 25 years’ experience in in private and public venture capital, and the equity capital markets. He has led capital raisings and M&A transactions across mining, energy, technology, and life sciences, and has founded, financed, and managed both private and ASX-listed companies. He is currently Executive Chairman of ASX listed WA Goldfields explorer and developer Javelin Minerals Ltd (JAV), New Zealand focused brownfields gold explorer Uvre Ltd (UVA) and Non-Executive Director of biotechnology company Imagion Biosystems Ltd (IBX). He was previously a director of Delta Lithium Ltd (DLI) and other ASX-listed resource, energy, and biotech firms.

  • Shiva McMahon

    CEO & Executive Director

    Ms McMahon is a global energy executive with over thirty years of board-level and senior leadership experience across operations, strategy, finance, and risk management. Before joining Petro Australis, she led International Operations at Woodside Energy, overseeing assets across the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Canada, and Senegal, following its merger with BHP Petroleum where she ran the Australian Petroleum business. Earlier, Shiva spent much of her career at BP, holding senior roles across multiple geographies and businesses, including CFO of Castrol, Head of BP’s Upstream Executive Office, and leadership positions in Trinidad & Tobago, Gulf of Mexico, Onshore US, Alaska, and Canada.

  • Saxon Palmer

    Executive Director

    Mr Palmer has more than 35 years of international geoscience and executive experience, including 10 years with BP and 11 years with BHP, where he served as Global Portfolio Manager and Exploration Manager for Australasia. He is recognised for his expertise in geoscience, new venture identification, building and leading technical teams, establishing in-country operations, and successfully finding and commercialising oil and gas resources.

  • Laurie Brown

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr Brown has over 35 years of international geoscience and executive experience, with extensive project work across established and emerging basins worldwide. His career includes 17 years with BP, three years with Woodside, a role as Shell Global Consultant, and senior positions with several smaller companies. He specialises in opening up new and emerging geographies and is a founder of Petro Australis.

  • Craig Burton

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr Burton is an experienced ASX director and active investor in emerging businesses across both public and private markets. Over the past 30 years, he has co-founded or invested in numerous development projects in the resources, oil and gas, and industrial services sectors. He contributes leadership and strategic guidance to the ventures he supports, with a focus on business strategy, senior executive recruitment, capital raising, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Brett Lawrence

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr Lawrence has 20 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr Lawrence worked with Apache Energy for over eight years, performing roles in drilling engineering, reservoir engineering, project development and commercial management. Since then, he has focused on new venture opportunities with ASX-listed companies, serving as Managing Director and Non-Executive Director.

  • Nigel Bliss

    Chief Financial Officer

    Mr Bliss brings over 20 years of international experience across property, funds management, banking, and structured finance. He previously served as CFO of Fiveight, part of the Tattarang Group, where he led finance, governance, treasury, and risk functions across real estate, development, and hospitality operations. Prior to this Nigel was Financial Controller at Charter Hall, with responsibility for financial reporting, ASX compliance, and board-level risk and audit processes. His career also includes senior finance and tax roles at Barclays Bank, PwC, and Australand.

  • Sarah Wilson

    Company Secretary

    Mrs Wilson is a governance professional with over 12 years of experience in governance and administration of publicly listed companies, primarily within the resources sector. She has acted as Company Secretary for numerous ASX listed companies and has extensive knowledge and expertise in regulatory compliance, corporate administration, and strategic governance. Sarah is currently Company Secretary for Mader Group Limited (ASX.MAD) and Austin Engineering Ltd (ASX.ANG). Sarah is a Director of Magnolia Corporate Pty Ltd, a boutique consultancy firm, specialising in company secretarial services.
